2013 Saint Petersburg, Russia 2013- The State Russian Museum This old church was recently restored after many years of neglect after the communist time. It is now a museum and not used as a church. Beautiful inside and out.
2013 Saint Petersburg, Russia- Hermitage Museum 2013 Of course I have a Starbucks Coffee en route to the world famous Hermitage museum. This used to be the main residence for the Czar (King). It is absolutely beautiful inside in every detail from floor to ceiling- not to mention the art. The outside is also a spectical in itself. Hard to believe this was once one house for one rather large family. Can you imagine the heating bill? 🙂 A MUST see while in this beautiful city!!
2013 Saint Petersburg, 2013 This city was built to be like a European city. Many of the designers were from Italy, England, France and other parts of Europe. Beautiful canals line the city reminiscent of Amsterdam or Venice. Beautiful architecture lines the canals and the city in whole. Very well thought out! This photo was taken on a beautiful September day. a long cold winter will follow soon and the canals will be pure ice.
2013 Saint Petersburg, 2013 I was lucky to visit the Konstantine Palace the week following Russia G20. This conference had 20 world leaders in attendance to discuss world matters such as climate and finance. I took a tour of where the meetings were held. This world seems smaller and smaller the more I travel.
2013 Craig Heath Seminar poster- 2013 -for the Dinasty Figure Skating Club in Saint Petersburg, Russia I had a great time working with the Dinasty skating school kids and coaches. They worked really hard and were super eager to learn!!

2013 San Francisco, California on a beautiful September day 2013 The Golden Gate Bridge with the city of San Francisco in the background. Alcatraz Island in middle of bay to left. Bay Bridge behind. One of the most beautiful cities in the world and definitely the most ‘European’ city in America.
2012 Phi Phi Island- Thailand- where the movie “The Beach” was filmed. You can take a day trip from Grabi or Phuket to this beautiful and magical Island. Try and go at a less than ‘peak’ time because this is a very popular area to visit and it can get heavily overcrowded. I suggest sitting outside on the speed boat for the journey. Inside can be a bit crowded. Wear sun screen!

2012 Bled, Slovenia What an amazing holiday town on a gorgeous lake! I went for an ISU JGP with Tiffany Lau and had my breath taken away when I arrived. From a beautiful church on a small island in the middle of a pristine lake, to a gorgeous castle up on a rock- Bled has it all. Not too far from Italy. If you are in the area, take a side trip to this unbelievable town!

February, 2011 El Nido Resort Lagen www.elnidoresorts.com/ in Palawan, Philippines. One of the most magical resorts in the world. This hotel (and the entire area) is environmentally conscious. Palawan is know as the ‘Last Frontier’ of the Philippines. The water is crystal clear, the fish are abundant and the air is clear and clean. The resort actually has 2 resorts so you can take a boat from one to the other. They also have two beach clubs and they arrange to take you to private beaches if you request. The staff was amazing and the entire week was organized and very well run. I will definitely return someday. Just fly to Manila and then take a charter plan for 1 hour and 15 mins and then a 50 min boat ride and you are in paradise!

The hike takes about a week but you can also do half at a time if a week is too long. They limit the number of hikers that can start the trail each day on either starting point. This is serious hiking and you must be experienced. www.westcoasttrailbc.com The landscape is phenomenal. There are wild animals like black bears, Sea Lions and cougars just to name a few. This is really an amazing hike.

March, 2010 Sydney, Australia- The Three Sisters are located in the Blue Mountains. A must see. Plan a day of hiking and check out all the beautiful canyons. The Legend of the Three Sisters: The Aboriginal dream-time legend has it that three sisters, ‘Meehni’, ‘Wimlah’ and Gunnedoo’ lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. These beautiful young ladies had fallen in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, yet tribal law forbade them to marry. The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the three sisters causing a major tribal battle. As the lives of the three sisters were seriously in danger, a witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe took it upon himself to turn the three sisters into stone to protect them from any harm. While he had intended to reverse the spell when the battle was over, the witchdoctor himself was killed. As only he could reverse the spell to return the ladies to their former beauty, the sisters remain in their magnificent rock formation as a reminder of this battle for generations to come.

January, 2009 One of the 3 Macau Venetian Hotel Pools in Macau, China. Macau is the “Las Vegas” of Asia. People from all over the world come to Macau to gamble. There are many hotels that are almost identical to the ones in Vegas. Cirque Du Soliel has a show in the Venetian hotel as well. It is a 1 hour ferry ride from Hong Kong. It was run by Portugal for 450 years so much of the old architecture looks European and then throw the Vegas look into the mix and you get a very interesting city…in China!
March, 2009 Cambodia. I absolutely loved Cambodia and I highly recommend that everyone goes there. The temples are amazing and the people are very friendly. Siem Reap is where most of the famous temples are located. I would recommend taking about 3 days to check them out. After 3 days you will have seen enough and be very satisfied. It is relatively inexpensive there so getting a hotel and a private driver is very economical. Many of the temples have been taken over by trees as you can see above. The history is fascinating.
March, 2009 Cambodia. Steffen, Craig and Matthias at Ankor Wat- One of the most famous places on earth to watch the sunrise. If you go to this amazing temple, be sure to get up and get a good spot to sit and watch the sunrise at Ankor Wat. Nobody likes getting up that early when on vacation, but it is truly worth it. Get there early so you can sit in front of the lily pond. There are cute shacks that have coffee and breakfast while you are waiting for the sun. Bring a light jacket and a flashlight (you will need one). Please remember your camera as well!!!
March, 2009 Cambodia. Another amazing temple.
April, 2009 Sanya Beach in Hainan, China This absolutely gorgeous beach is located in mainland China. It is a one hour flight from Hong Kong but feels like another world. It is a very tropical island that is frequented by the rich and famous. Every designer hotel has a prime location on this long white sand beach. I stayed at the newly opened Ritz-Carlton hotel and had a gorgeous room with an ocean view. If you are in Hong Kong and want to get far away without going very far…check out Sanya!
April, 2009 Bohol, Philippines. These are the “Chocolate Mountains” and they are one of the very famous tourist spots of this very quaint island in the Philippines. The mountains go for miles and miles and are really a sight to see. Bohol is considered the new “Borocay” since Borocay Island has become so popular with tourists from all over the world. Bohol is basically what Borocay used to be. I love it there and would go back in a heartbeat.
April, 2009 Bohol, Philippines It is hard to tell from this photo, but I am actually standing in the middle of the ocean on a sandbar that goes for miles. I took a long walk from a tiny island along this gorgeous sandbar. I have to say that this is one of the most amazing things that I have ever done. My friends and I were the only ones walking there and it was really surreal to have ocean on either side of us and being able to walk in very beautiful, warm water for miles. I will definitely do this again in my lifetime!
April ,2009 Bohol, Philippines The Tarsier-or “world’s smallest Monkey” was rated the planet’s cutest animal in 1997. This adorable creature is native to Bohol. There are farms where you can touch them and take pictures with them. This is definitely one of the things you must do while on the island. The tarsier – or ‘world’s smallest monkey’ was rated the planet’s cutest animal in 1997
May, 2009 Bangkok, Thailand I love this city! There are other great photo’s earlier in my travel log if you want to see more. Everyone has to go to Bangkok at least once. It is a thriving city full of mystery and fun. Take a ride down the river in a water taxi, have great nightlife, very nice people, amazing temples to see and great food!
May, 2009 Hong Kong Can I just say..”I love Hong Kong!”
June, 2009 Marin County, California This photo was taken during an amazing hike from Stinson Beach back up to Mt. Tamalpais. Marin County is directly over the Golden Gate Bridge and has nature, hiking, beaches, wine country, and just about anything that a person would enjoy. Yes, this is my home as well but I have to say it is absolutely amazing!!!
June, 2009 San Francisco, California One of my favorite cities in the world! This photo was taken in Union Square, the most famous shopping areas of the city with one of the famous cable cars that San Francisco is known for.

June, 2009 Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California Craig and Steffen riding across the bridge. If you go to the city you MUST rent a bike and ride over the GG Bridge!
June, 2009 Yosemite Valley, California One of the most beautiful places on earth. Yosemite is about a 4 hour drive from San Francisco and it is well worth the trip. If you go, do the 10-12 hour hike from the valley up to Half Dome. Yes, your legs will be tired, but you will see some of the most beautiful scenery of your life. There are gorgeous waterfalls everywhere. Be in good shape and ready for getting wet. There are sections where a good rain poncho comes in very handy-especially when you are climbing right next to the waterfalls. Bring lots of water and energy bars and pack a lunch.
June, 2009 Carmel, California The Carmel Mission. The gardens are beautiful. You must drive about 2 miles out of town to visit and there is a small entrance fee but it is definitely worth the trip!
June, 2009 Yosemite Valley, California This is Half Dome. Once you hike up to this section you must wear gloves and climb the cables that lead up to the top. For some people this is very scary. For others it is just plain exhilarating! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this 10 hour hike.

June, 2009 Yosemite Valley, California One of the many gorgeous waterfalls in the valley.
June, 2009 Napa Valley, California One of the most beautiful wine countries in the world. Napa Valley is only a 45 minute drive from San Francisco…and very well worth the trip. Hire a limo for the day and have them take you wine tasting. It will be a trip you never forget! Take a picnic and stop for a nice lunch along the way.

January, 2009- the Big Buddha on Lantau Island in Hong Kong Tourists from all over the world come to see the Big Buddha. They just built a gondola to transport people up to one of Hong Kong’s biggest attractions. Hiking is another fun way make the trip and there are busses as well. Don’t worry….they just put in an outdoor shopping area that includes a Starbucks and some nice restaurants.
December 26, 2009- Boracay Island (Philippines) This was the view from the beach to my hotel. What a magical place! I was so lucky to spend Christmas there with 2 very close friends.I had been there eight years ago when I was on tour with Disney on Ice-Toy Story and it was so fun to return.

11/27/08 Kylie X 2008 tour in Hong Kong! Kylie Minogue is a huge superstar in many parts of the world. She is bigger than Madonna in Australia where she is from. For some reason the USA has not fully embraced her. She has one big hit in the 80″s called Locomotion but since then there has not been much about her. Since I have lived in Europe so much, I have really come to love her and her music. I have always wanted to see a concert of hers and I finally had my chance when she came to the Asiaworld Arena in Hong Kong. She put on a great show and everyone in the arena had fun. I took this photo. Kylie is in pink, obviously. 🙂 To discover Kylie for yourself, check out www.kylie.com
11/3/08 Craig and Andi on Alcatraz Island
11/3/08 Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. I born and raised in the San Francisco bay area and I am actually still living here and I have never been on the Alcatraz Island tour! I finally went and absolutely loved it! If you are visiting San Francisco then this is a MUST do! I suggest going online and googling Alcatraz and buy tickets online so you make sure to have a spot a the time you want to go. This will eliminate waiting in line once you get there. You need between 2 and 3 hours for the whole trip. Once on the Island, make sure you get the audio tour of the cell block. It is very interesting and informative. The Island has some amazing views and great photo opportunities. The 12 minute ferry ride to the Island is fun as well.
11/01/08 Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour 2008! What can I say? Amazing!!! I liked it so much that I went on Craigslist and bought tickets for the following night! So, I went to two shows in Oakland, California and had a blast both nights. She looks great and watching the show was like being at a big party. I didn’t sit down once on either night. I danced more than I ever had before at a concert. This show was the most ‘interactive’ of all her shows. She had the crowd in the palm of her hands both nights. At one point she asked everyone to vote. Then she asked everyone to vote for Obama! The crowd went wild!!! She has so much energy on stage. It is really hard to believe that she is 50! The staging was really good as was the lighting. My two favorite parts were the “Like a Prayer” remix and also the “Devil Wouldn’t recognize you” where she sang on top of a piano. Her guitar playing is really getting good too. Go Madonna! If you can go see this show….do it!!!! Photo from www.madonnalicious.com
9/22/08 Diamond Head crater in Honolulu, Hawaii
9/21/08 Hanauma Bay on the Island of Ouahi, Hawaii. Hanauma Bay is one the the most spectacular nature preserves in Hawaii. This the world famous snorkeling spot that people from all over the world come to enjoy the natural marine ecosystems. There is an entrance fee and a 10 minute video to watch before entering. This is to help protect the reef for generations to come. You can rent snorkel gear right down on the beach. They do not sell food on the beach so bring your own or you can buy something at the concessions stand at the gate entrance.
9/22/08 View of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach from the top of Diamond Head crater. I suggest to take this short hike (about 1 hour round trip) up to the top of Diamond Head to see the magnificent views below. Wear good shoes and bring water!
9/22/08 A gorgeous waterfall in Kauai, Hawaii
9/22/08 Matthias, Steffen and Craig after an outstanding helicopter ride around Kauai, Hawaii I highly recommend taking a heli tour while on the island. This was my first time doing this and definitely not my last. I give it 5 stars out of 5. You can see all the amazing coast lines and breathtaking canyons and waterfalls. The ride lasts for about 1 hour and there is not 1 second that isn’t amazing.
9/21/08 Napali Coast, Kauai, Hawaii I have to say that this was the most beautiful hike that I have ever been on. Every step was magical and around every corner was another gorgeous view to behold. You can park at Tunnels Beach and then take the trail head there. Start early so you avoid the afternoon heat. Take plenty of water! There is a beautiful day hike that goes 2 miles (up and down with many rocks) to a gorgeous beach and then another hike that goes up to an amazing waterfall. This is a must do during your lifetime experience! There is another 11 miles to hike but you need to get a pass from the ranger station in order to do this. You must also be ready to camp and have food with you. I give this 5 stars out of 5. It is truly amazing!!

Idaho Falls, 2007 Well…I’m just telling this strange man a funny secret. He was shocked!
10/07/06 Freedom of the Seas. I just performed onboard the largest cruise ship in the world! What a wonderful experience! This ship is HUGE. It is 100 feet longer than the other ships I have skated on. But wait… they are going to make an even larger ship in the next couple of years! We would do 7 day cruises that started in Miami and ported in Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Caymen, Jamaica, and Haiti. I was on for 3 glorious weeks. I can’t wait until my next ship job. Life is good. 🙂 Craig
10/6/06 Welcome aboard the largest cruise ship in the world! Freedom of the Seas from Royal Caribbean International. 5/30/06 Madonna’s Confessions tour in San Jose, California What an amazing show! Madonna is a constant inspiration to me and this show is yet another reason why. She was incredible. The show was incredible and the energy in the arena was amazing. For a 47 year old diva, she proves yet again that she is the #1 Diva of all time. If you can go see it- DO! www.madonna.com Madonna tour photo taken from: www.madonnalicious.com

4/19/06 Sun Valley Spring Skiing I have not been skiing for about 22 years! This was my first time back up onto the mountain. When I first stepped off the chairlift it was as if I had been skiing all those years. It was like riding a bike, everything came back instantly. I went back three times and could not get enough. If you are ever in the area, check it out! www.sunvalley.com
4/18/06 Craig and Gia Guddat getting ready to hit the slopes during the incredible spring skiing in Sun Valley, Idaho. I had an amazing trip to the valley. 4/10/06 Craig with Tamami and Ria at Festival Walk Mall in Kowloon (Hong Kong). I had the pleasure of working with these two lovely skaters during my teaching stint in Hong Kong. I choreographed programs for both of them and was quite happy with how they turned out!
3/18/06 Shanghai, China This is actually a movie set at the studio in Shanghai. All of the buildings are real and this street is used in many movies, TV shows and commercials in China. All of the lights are the Mont Blanc logo’s for the special party that was held and there were actors walking the streets dressed like it was the olden days. The guests walked through this street to get to the actual party in the sound stage.
3/21/06 Beijing, China Summer Palace. This is a boat make entirely out of marble. Apparently the “dragon lady” who lived in the palace, would sit on this boat and look in the mirror of the lake behind her. She seemed to be a very interesting character. She really loved herself. She had an entire temple built for her birthday! There is a gigantic man made lake on the property along with temples, residences and gardens. A must see!
3/21/06 Beijing, China Forbidden City. I had no idea how big this temple city was! We walked and walked and walked. We did find a Starbucks in the heart of it too! Hire a private tour guide and driver to take you around the city. It is not very expensive but well worth it. There are many tour groups but it is much better to be on your own. Most of the hotels have private tours available so check it out.
3/21/06 Beijing, China Outside of the Forbidden City. I could not resist getting a photo of these soldiers. They were so serious! I was standing in Tienanmen Square where these soldiers were and I was about to walk into the Forbidden City. There is so much history here and it surpasses my wildest dreams.
3/20/06 Beijing, China Ashley Clark and myself with Starbucks on the Great Wall of China!
3/20/06 Beijing, China The Great Wall was incredible. More than I ever expected. I went with Ashley Clark and we had the best day of walking and taking photo’s. We took a chair lift up to the Wall and then walked for about 4 hours taking photo’s, video’s and dancing with our ipods. At the end of our journey, we took a slide all the way back down to the very nice cab driver who was waiting for us at the bottom to take us back to the city that was an hour and a half away. We went to an area that was not very touristy, which was great. Climbing the Wall has been on my list of things to do for many years. What a wonderful accomplishment!
3/18/06 Shanghai, China Cast of the 100 year anniversary show for Mont Blanc with choreographer Billy Chapel and Producer Jeb Rand. We had such a fantastic time in Shanghai. The show was part of an 18 million dollar party that was held at the only movie studio in Shanghai. The entire studio was transformed into a winter wonderland and no expense was spared. We did an ice show in the middle of one of the sound stages with thousands of party goers screaming and cheering us on. I don’t think that most of them had ever seen anything like it in their life time.
3/30/06 Adult Nationals in Dallas, Texas “Team Wade” in action. Friends and supporters of Wade Berry who won the silver medal at Adult Nationals.
3/7/06 Ice Theatre of New York performance at Riverbank State Park. This photo is of the cast.
3/5/06 Rockefeller Center, New York I had the amazing opportunity to perform with the Ice Theatre of New York in one of the world’s most famous ice rinks, Rockefellar Center in Downtown Manhattan. What an amazing experience it was to finally skate in such a beautiful setting and with such great skaters. The Ice Theatre of New York does some really amazing work and if you are ever in the area should really check them out. For more info go to www.icetheatre.org
2/10/06 Las Vegas, Nevada I went to Vegas to get a new costume made for this summer and I ended up at a party with a bunch of Disney on Ice-Toy Story cast and crew members. Check out this photo! Those were fun times on tour and ones that I will always cherish. I also was able to sit third row, center for Elton John The Red Piano show. I have not seen him live for quite a few years and he was better than ever. I also went to the Cirque du Soleil show ‘KA’. I have to say that it was the best show that I have ever seen. I was completely mesmerized the entire show and afterwards I walked around in a daze for about an hour. Excellent!
1/8/06 Taipei, Taiwan Ashley, Craig, Kristen and Liza (Reporter for ETTV) during a photo shoot for Holiday on Ice- Hollywood.
1/01/06 Taipei, Taiwan The cast of Holiday on Ice-Hollywood about to go on stage at the Taipei Arena with the Ministry of Sound, to do the final countdown for the New Year! Incredible experience!
1/05/2006 Taipei, Taiwan This was my second trip to Taipei and boy was it fun! I went to 2 fabulous vegetarian restaurants, one had food the used to be for the Royal families only! Be careful when you go into ay 7-11 store, they cook these really smelly eggs that have a very distinct odor! Holiday on Ice played the brand new Taipei Arena. What an incredible experience! We were treated like superstars and played to over 40,000 people during 7 performances. The television station ETTV did a fantastic job publicizing the show. After we did the final show, we all flew home. Holiday on Ice-Hollywood is under negotiation to tour the U.S. starting in October.
12/25/05 A very Merry Starbucks Christmas in Hong Kong! We had 2 shows on Christmas day, but it started of with a fabulous Christmas morning with friends and of course, Starbucks! Hong Kong is a wonderful city and definitely a must see in your lifetime. If you go, make sure to go to the Peak Lookout restaurant for a fantastic menu and excellent views of the city. Live life to the fullest, believe in yourself, conquer your fears, take time to enjoy your life and look as cute as you can as much as possible! Craig
12/23/05 Hong Kong. I had the great opportunity to teach a seminar for the Vision on Ice skaters and coaches while on tour with Holiday on Ice in Hong Kong. This was a publicity event for our show and for the ice rink. After the skating seminar I gave a backstage tour to all of the participants. Check out my new skates. They are Jackson Ultima Hinge skates with their new blades that you can change the runners on. It took me a few weeks to get used to them but now I absolutely love them. My back, knees, and hips feel so much better as these skates lower the impact on them. You really use your ankles and that makes your whole body stronger. They are also great for spinning!
12/23/05 Victor, Craig and Samantha in Hong Kong Being in Hong Kong for the Holidays has been a trip! Wow, do they know how to celebrate! You have never seen so many stores and people! I had the amazing experience to help out a few of the skaters and coaches while playing Hong Kong with Holiday on Ice. This photo is of 2 of the skaters I worked with. I hope to someday come back to this amazing city!
12/22/05 I took a fun trip to see the Big Buddah in Hong Kong. It took about 2 hours to get there from the city and I made it 10 minutes before it closed for the night! I did, however, get some great photo’s of the gigantic Buddah and I was also able to see a beautiful sunset while I was at it. Definitely worth the trip if you ever get to Hong Kong. I also recommend going to the Peak Lookout restaurant overlooking the city of Hong Kong. If you go, make a reservation and sit outside. Amazing food and scenery. There are lookout areas near so you can take some amazing photo’s while you are up there. Muti-task!
12/18/05 And a VERY Merry Christmas from Santosa Island in Singapore! What a great way to spend the winter! I have always said that Singapore is like Beverly Hills- The country! It is extremely clean and manicured. Every road is meticulously taken care of and the flowers and trees are beautiful. There is a price to pay though. There are more government rules here than any other place I have ever been to. I loved it on my first visit and I loved it even more on my second. If you go, bring shorts! It is very hot and humid- always.
12/23/05 Taipei, Taiwan. Max, Mel, Fred and I went to Taipei early to promote our show that will be playing January 6-8, 2006. This a photo of us with a very famous woman from Taiwan. Did you know that the world’s tallest building is in Taipei? But…not for long. Shanghai is working on one that will be taller! I’m looking forward to spending New Years in Taipei and bringing in 2006!
12/01/05 Singapore is probably the safest country in the world. There is virtually no crime. I have traveled there twice so far and really loved it each time. From meticulously maintained streets with beautiful, tropical trees everywhere- to Little India (you feel like you really are in India). I taught some of the skaters from the local skating club during a seminar for them at Holiday on Ice. What a treat. I so enjoy working with skaters from all over the world. We are all similar in many ways. Skating is our common language. Craig
11/25/05 North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii I had another wonderful trip to Hawaii. I was there for two glorious weeks. I took the first week as a vacation but I was back in the Ice Palace skating and teaching for the second week. My friends William and Jeri came to visit and fun was had by all. I flew from Jakarta, Indonesia to Honolulu and then back to Kuala Lumpur to continue my Hollywood Asia tour with Holiday on Ice. Keep smiling! Ask yourself good questions. Your brain will give you good answers! Craig

12/5/2005 This photo is of Krikri (another skater on tour with me in Asia) and myself in Kuala Lumpur in front of the Twin Towers. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is really a fantastic city. There is incredible shopping and anything and everything that you would. It doesn’t matter where in the world you are from. Every culture is represented here and everyone gets along. While walking in the mall, you will see Buddhist monks, strict Muslims, Westerners, Indians and everything in between. What a mix! The city is manicured to perfection. There are beautiful parks everywhere. The climate is HOT and tropical. The night life is plenty. Enjoy! Craig

10/12/05 Bangkok, Thailand
10/12/05 Bangkok, Thailand This was my first trip to Bangkok. I really did have a great time and there were many things about it that I liked. The weather was hot and humid. The food was very good. The people were nice. There were many fascinating temples to see and islands to visit. There is, however, a lot of poverty. People begging in the streets and the like. You can buy just about anything. My friends were eating fried cockroaches, grasshoppers and frogs. Don’t ask me why! This photo was from a fabulous day of sightseeing. I took a boat trip and visited a few temples and also got to see how the locals live. The woman in this photo was selling things to tourists. I did actually buy a few things from her and then we took a photo together. You can get just about anything you want in Bangkok. Be safe and have fun!

10/25/05 Amazing experience. Kristen Treni and I were able to meet the Princess of Thailand when she came to see our HOI-Hollywood show in Bangkok. Kristen gave her flowers and I escorted her and bowed. It is always interesting meeting royalty from other countries. I was told how to bow and I was also told NOT to point my toes up as that is considered rude!
7/5/05 Delos Island- Greece If you have the chance to visit Mykonos Island in Greece, make sure you take the time to go to the ancient ruins at Delos. This small island is only a short ferry ride away but rich in Greek culture. It only takes a few hours of your day but the amount that you will learn is unforgettable! Nobody actually lives on this island except for archaeologists who are still studying and excavating. There is also a museum here that is a must see. The ferry’s leave Mykonos all day long but the last one back is shortly before 4:00pm. Remember…With every adversity comes the seed of something equal or better benefit.
6/13/05 Las Vegas- 65th Year of Ice Capades Reunion Pool party at the Ice Capades reunion. Annette Bowman, Scott Driscol, Patrick Brault, Jeri Campbell and myself hangin’ at the pool. What a great trip to Vegas! The reunion was run extremely well so hats off to the organizing committee! There were over 500 guests so you can only imagine the amount of socializing involved. I don’t think I slept for 2 days. But 100% worth it. The reunions have been happening about every 5 years and I am already waiting for the next one to happen. What an honor is was for me to be there. Unfortunately, the Ice Capades is no longer-but the friendships that we made there will last forever. Soon we will just have to name the reunions ‘The Figure Skaters’ Reunion! Remember…Be totally committed to whatever it takes to succeed!!!
6/6/05 Athens- Principal Cast of Holiday on Ice- Hollywood At the end the 3rd year tour, the Principal cast gets together for a backstage photo right after the finale. The Hollywood tour is doing a 4th year Asia tour but many of the cast members are leaving and new faces are arriving. It has been a wonderful 3 years so far. We have toured Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, England, Eastern Europe, Greece and Mexico. Tour life can be incredible just for the places that you get to visit. It is also a very difficult job…but getting paid to do what you love and have people clap for you is not too terrible! Remember…Who you are around you will grow to be like, positive or negative!
6/5/05 Athens-Changing of the Guards As you can see from this photo, the changing of the guards is quite funny. I have never seen anything like it before. The outfits alone are a riot! I think someone had just a little bit too much to drink before they came up with this routine! Remember…The past does not equal the future!
5/31/05 Mykonos Island- Greece The sunsets are absolutely beautiful! Need I say more?
5/31/05 Mykonos, Greece- Super Paradise Beach OK, I have been to thousands of places in my lifetime-but this Island is now on top of my list of places to visit AGAIN! Mykonos Island is fantastic. There are gorgeous beaches where freedom of dress (or no dress) are allowed. Crystal clear water is everywhere and the nightlife is absolutely fantastic! The island just about shuts down for the winter season but June-October are the time to visit. The photo above is Super Paradise Beach. It is 1/2 straight and 1/2 gay so everyone is welcome. There are 2 bar/restaurats that are located on either end of the beach. You can either rent a scooter/car or take a taxi to get here. I was there for 1 whole day but could have easily gone back everyday for a week and been really happy. I took a fast ferry from Athens. It is about 4 hours that way or you can take a 30 minute flight. I actually went twice and did it each way. Take the ferry and enjoy the scenery along the way…unless you are strapped for time, of course! Remember…Everything in your life happens for a reason or purpose that serves you!
5/12/05 Athens, Greece- The Acropolis I have always wanted to see Athens for myself. It was one of the places on my list of places to see. The Acropolis is the main archaeological site here. It is a must see. The metro is very easy and very inexpensive. The traffic is terrible but the cabs are extremely cheap too. This city has undergone a huge facelift for the Olympics and it shows. If you are planning a trip to Greece, I would recommend staying in Athens for only 1 or 2 days. Go to the Acropolis and have dinner in the Plaka (the neighborhood of the Olympic Gods). The Plaka is very trendy and a fantastic place to be if you want to ‘look cute.’ Life is all about looking cute anyway so you might as well take my advice! After your days in Athens, go to the islands. There are about 3, 500 in total but Mykonos and Santorini are the most popular. The winters are cold so go in the spring or summer if possible. Remember….there are no failures only outcomes!
5/10/05 Santorini, Greece This photo is of the sunset pool of the hotel I stayed at on Santorini Island. I have to say that the views took my breath away. I have never seen such beautiful views and felt so relaxed in my life. The Greek people are very friendly, for the most part and English is spoken by most people here. If you are anywhere near Greece, definitely visit Santorini and stay on the cliff overlooking the volcano! The island was blown in half at some point in time and half if it is a huge cliff that people built houses, hotels and restaurants on. It is truly incredible. Words can’t express how beautiful this island is. Get over there!!!!
5/5/05 Yes, there is a Starbucks on this tiny Island in Greece! How happy was I to discover it! There are about 3000 islands in Greece and I ended up on the 1 island with a Starbucks! Myconos is one of the most fun islands here. During the summer, you can stay out 24 hours a day if you want to. The beaches are beautiful and the night life is incredible too. I am making my second trip to the island and can’t wait. The fast ferry takes about 4 hours from Athens or jump on a 30 minute flight. If you go, be sure to check out Blue Ginger Thai/Chinese restaurant. Excellent food and breathtaking views. I can eat there every night. also be sure to check out the Piano Bar in the heart of the city..overlooking the sea! There is live entertainment every evening and a bar staff that is first class. Go to Delos to visit the ancient ruins if you can. It is a quick boat ride and a trip back in time that you will not forget.
4/18/05 Bratislava is sometimes referred to as the “new Prague.” I don’t totally agree with this statement, although there is a very nice old town center and some incredible restaurants and hotels here. The main attraction is the castle that is up on a hill towering over the city. I am pictured in front of the Opera House in the town center right in the heart things. There is a restaurant called Paparazzi located near the opera house. Check it out. They have an incredible menu for food and a separate drinks menu that is a book. There are plenty of outdoor cafe’s to relax and “look cute” in too!
4/25/05 Prague is my favorite European City. There is something very magical about this city. Being there feels like being back in time, even with all of the tourists! I recommend going before or after the summer. Tourism is huge here and the amount of people can be overwhelming. Just getting around can be a challenge! The city is not only beautiful, but it is also very trendy. I went from one trendy restaurant to another and wished I had more than the 10 days that I spent there. The winters are very cold, but the summers are nice. If you go, be sure to eat at BAZAAR. It is known as “the most romantic place in Prague.” The menu is Mediterranean and the views are spectacular. I can’t say enough good things about this city. I love it and will return many times. The photo is me with one of the castle guards. Be sure to watch the changing of the guards if you go!
The bridge that connects Buda and Pest. Yes, At one time Budapest was two different cities. This is the original bridge (rebuilt after the war) that connected them.
Hero Square in Budapest. This monument is a tribute to all the heroes of the country.
5/9/05 I just arrived back on tour with Holiday on Ice-Hollywood. Budapest is our first city and the photo above is yours truly at the Buda castle with Budapest in the back round. What a beautiful city. Old world style is combined with the most modern styles. I really had no idea what to expect when I came here, so I was pleasantly surprised. Of course I did not look at the weather forecast before leaving San Francisco, so when I stepped off the plane in Budapest and the temperature was about 70 degrees, I had a smile from ear to ear! The audiences were amazing and the show sold very well. I look forward to the next few Eastern European cities that we travel to before going to Greece for a month.

2/8/05 Bikes, bikes, bikes! I have never seen so many people ride bikes in my life! Being a pedestrian in this city can be very hazardous to your health! You must look both ways about 10 times before crossing the street! If there are not a million bikers, there are buses, trams, cars and other pedestrians all fighting to get somewhere! The photo above is outside the Amsterdam central train station. This is their version of a car park! Maybe the US can take notice of this and people can start riding to work and not driving so much! It is a great way to stay in shape, and get to where you are going. Rain, snow, wind, or extreme cold do not stop the Dutch from biking. This is their way of transportation and nothing will stop them!
2/8/05 This photo was taken somewhere in Holland, backstage at Holiday on Ice- Hollywood. Joel, Craig, Mike and Ashley are all pictured. My 3 month Dutch tour of Hollywood was fantastic. I have come to love Holland and all that it has to offer. The Dutch people were extremely friendly. We toured many different cities, playing for 1-2 weeks per engagement. The audiences loved the show and thanked us with standing ovations everyday. I would tour Holland again in a second!
2/8/05 Being in Amsterdam for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year’s was amazing. I have always loved that city and now I love it even more. The canals are gorgeous in summer or winter. It is such a cozy city that lends itself well to eating at one of many cute restaurants, or having a night out on the town in one of the city’s fantastic bars. The photo above is of Ashley Clark and I, in a Dutch wooden shoe (she made me take that photo shoot) in the heart of Amsterdam. That pretty much says it all. We are just 2, sitting in a shoe! How embarrassing! 5/27/04 Last night I had the incredible fortune to watch Madonna perform her Re-Invention tour from the front row at the Forum in Los Angeles. She has been a constant inspiration to me for the last 20 years and I think now more than ever. She was absolutely amazing last night. She looks better than ever and her voice is sounding great. I had such a great time dancing and singing along with her. She has the incredible ability to send her message across while still entertaining and having fun. The show is fantastic and I highly recommend it. It is all sold out across the world, but if you go to www.eseats.com you can find great seats. You can also go to www.madonna.com to find tour dates and updates about it. On another note, I had to have a minor knee surgery to clean up a few things. The surgery went very well and I am now back on the ice (1 week later) stroking. Unfortunately, I will not be able to compete at the MLFS Championships in Lakeland, Florida June 4-6, 2004. I am working to be able to perform in the first Sun Valley summer show that will be on Saturday night June 12. My Sun Valley teaching schedule is filling up quickly so if you are interested in working with me anytime from June 9-September 10, 2004, please let me know so that I can get you in my book. Smile, dance, love life and go out and buy something really expensive for yourself! Craig
On top of Diamond Head in Honolulu, Hawaii
4/8/04 Aloha! I’m in Hawaii taking the first real vacation that I have ever taken by myself! I always tell people to stop and smell the flowers, but I never do it. So, I finally decided to take my own advice and treat myself to a real vacation. Of course, I am keeping myself busy by working out, walking all over the city, getting massages, etc. It is in my nature to be busy all the time! I am happy to report that Starbucks has expanded and is all over Honolulu! Everyday I have found another new one that I didn’t know about. 🙂 I’m taking 2 months away from performing and traveling, but you can catch me in Sun Valley, Idaho from Mid June-Mid September.

Mandy, Ingo and Craig backstage at Holiday on Ice in Zwickau, (East) Germany 3/29/04 Holiday on Ice-Hollywood just finished the second year tour. What a wonderful tour it was. Great show, great audiences, wonderful cities, nice cast and crew. The show is going to take a 6 week break and then it heads over to sunny Mexico for a 4 month tour. I am sitting this one out so that I can perform and teach in Sun Valley, Idaho, but I will be back with Hollywood in October when it returns to Europe. We will be touring Holland and England next winter. Remember: Keep investing. Check out www.strongfunds.com They have a great Internet site to invest through. Remember the 3 best tips about buying property, Location, Location, Location!
Backstage with the McCarthy family in Keil, Germany 3/11/04 Tour life can be very rewarding. I highly recommend it to everyone, even if just for a year or two to try it out. It is not for everyone, but if it works for you it can be fantastic. I mean really, who gets paid to travel the world, stay in shape, and have thousands of people applaud you every night? It is not always perfect as one can always find difficulties in anything, but my appreciation for my “life” overrides any hardship that I might encounter. The other day someone that I work with came up to me and asked me how I could be happy all the time. My reply, “well..I just absolutely love my job and my life.” She just looked at me and said, “you are right…what a great attitude!” They say, it only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch but that could also work the other way. One positive person can totally affect the people around them and that good energy spreads like wildfire. The things that I have learned “on the road” are some of the most valuable things that I will ever need in life. Being around so many different people from just about every country is a challenge, but also a blessing. My memories from the last eleven years “on the road” are incredible. I would not trade them for anything in the world. Stand tall, live to the beat of your own drummer, smell the flowers, drink green tea! Craig

Brick monument to the former Berlin Wall, on the street
Piece of Berlin Wall at Potsdamerplatz 3/8/04 The Berlin Wall always has fascinated me. Have you ever thought about the walls that you put up around you? I know that I have walls up around people or situations that I don’t like. Imagine putting a wall up to divide a city! This photo is a piece of the wall that I walked by everyday for 3 weeks while in Berlin. There are still several sections of wall that have been left standing as a reminder of what NOT to do, and there is a path of bricks where the wall was so that people can see just where it was and how different things are now. I am, and always have been fascinated with the Berlin wall. I don’t know if it that I can’t believe that is was real, or that I am just elated that it was taken down. I often wonder what it was like to live in Berlin with such a division and then to have it taken down after such a long and gruesome time. I wish that I could have been a “fly on the wall” to watch the freedom transpire. My 3 weeks in Berlin were fantastic. I enjoyed getting to know one of the world’s best cities. I think it might be a wise investment to buy property here. In 10-20 years time, I predict that Berlin will be a VERY hot spot! Live in the moment, enjoy life, create your own reality. Craig Berlin has been fantastic. Great audiences, great city, great opening night, but too many shows! We are performing 13 shows per week here so that is keeping us busy and also keeping our feet sore! Living in Berlin can be quite fun. I predict that Berlin will be one of the worlds best cities in the next 10 years after most of the construction is finished. After the wall was taken down in 1989, the city needed a big facelift, which it is in the middle of. so far, the changes are amazing and I look forward to seeing this city again and again (considering it is different every time). I am living right next to Checkpoint Charlie and near the Brandenberger Gate and Potsdamer Platz where the Sony Center and Daimler Chrysler building are. There are Starbucks everywhere! Next time I come to Berlin, please let it be summer!
Craig, Robin Cousins and Mike Chack at the Berlin Premier of Holiday on Ice- Hollywood
Craig with sister Kristy at the Brandenberger Gate in Berlin My travels with Holiday on Ice have been fantastic. We just completed a 3 week run in Vienna, Austria that was amazing. We skated at the same arena that I did my very first International competition in way back in 1987! Vienna has changed a lot, but some things were the same. They still have magazines on little hooks on the Underground railways. I remember in 1987 thinking about how incredible it was that people would read the magazines and then actually put them back on the hook for someone else to read. Well…I am happy to report that this practice still exists today! I felt like a Vienna native after 2 weeks. I could get all the way to the other end of the city on the Underground in 10 minutes (to go to Starbucks of course). I went to Salzburg (where they filmed The Sound of Music) with my mom when she visited. We took a fun tour to see all the places that they filmed the movie…and sang the songs to the CD in the van along the way! We are now in Munich (Munchen) for 2 weeks. We had a gala opening night here with about 12,000 people in attendance. Wow! It was fantastic. We will play to almost 100,000 people during our 2 weeks here. Enjoy life! Stay out of trouble. Invest!!!! Craig

Adventure of the Seas cruise ship in St. Thomas V.I.
Craig in Curaco I’m now into my first week of “Cool Art, Hot Ice” onboard Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Cruise ship. Great show and fun cast. The best part of this job is that I get to visit many tropical Islands along the way. Today we are in St. Maarten and I am on the Dutch side of the Island. The other side is French and they share the island…strange but true. I am sitting at the cutest little internet cafe drinking cranberry juice and enjoying my day. We have 2 shows later tonight so I decided not to relax on the beach…I’ll do that in St. Thomas tomorrow! Only 5 weeks to go!!! Keep it cool! Craig

St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands) I am just about to finish up in Sun Valley, Idaho for the summer and move on to Royal Caribbean’s “Adventurer of the Seas” cruise ship for 7 weeks before returning to Holiday on Ice-Hollywood for year number 2 of a 3 year tour. We will tour Germany and then perform in Vienna for 3 weeks. This year’s tour is only 4 months (ends Mid March) and then I am free until Mid June when I return to Sun Valley for the summer. I will write updates on what is going on during the cruise ship once I get on and settled! Live life to the fullest! Go for it! Eat your veggies! Craig
